Laboratory Of Cartography Of The Institute Of Geography Ran

Andrey Medvedev, the head of the Cartography Laboratory of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, has been engaged in research in the field of typhlographic cards for people with visual impairments for many years. The urgency of the problem is primarily associated with the lack of methodological developments for creating tactile cards. Studying international experience and using new technologies in close cooperation with typhlopedagogues of correctional schools, the project team set the task of creating tactile and typhlographic cards for geography lessons and distributing manuals to correctional schools for children with visual impairments in Russia.
